This is going to be one heck of a post since I haven't updated in about a month (whoops), so I think I'll split it up into two posts. This first one will be of the older photos.

This day was absolutely beautiful and warm and as I was walking through the Oval at about 3pm, I was so surprised at the amount of people playing, running, talking, laying, and walking through the Oval. It sure felt like spring was right around the corner!

This night, I went to see Drums Downtown with my friend Megan for an assignment for our dance class. (above is the program) It ended up being so cool! It was all experimental music and modern dance. We loved it. Definitely going back next year!

...Remember how I said spring was just around the corner? Yeah, two days later we were faced with this. The picture doesn't quite capture it, but the snowflakes were HUGE - maybe the biggest I've seen. And they were coming down fast and heavy, coating everything in cold wet snow. Gross.

Walking past the RPAC (OSU's Rec Center), I thought the circular metal sculpture to the right in this picture, below the tower in the background, looked so cool. It was reflecting light from the Scarlet Walkway (upper left-hand corner of the picture). Pretty!

Yet another sign of spring...there are six robins in this picture. Most all of the birds on campus are so accustomed to people that you can get really close to them, like I did here.

At Zoology Club, the Ohio Wildlife Center brought in some animals for us to see, including this red-shouldered hawk. I had never seen one!

Emily decided to do my makeup (and I will never object to a free makeover) this night for fun.  This is the result, but it's not a very good picture of the finished product, unfortunately.  She used a combination of my Maybelline and E.L.F. eyeshadows - it was pink on the lid and graduated darker until it got to a silvery purple on the browbone.

(Attempting to) grow a little strawberry plant in our window. I found the kit at Target for $1 so who knows. I probably planted it a little early on because the chilly air from outside has been blowing on it. Hopefully it sprouts soon! My mom has a little mini rose one that is sprouting at home.

Favorite. Chocolates. Ever. Nothing compares to Lindor Truffles (especially the milk-milk and the white-milk ones). Zack bought me the limited edition white chocolate-milk chocolate ones for Valentine's Day. :) Aww. I devoured them. (Hey Zack - my birthday is coming up...) :)

A small sign of spring as I was walking to my dorm. Not sure what this little green sprout is but it's cute, and it's green! (At this point, after this horrible winter, I'll take what I can get.)

Found this written on a bathroom stall. Thought it was sweet. I love meaningful graffiti.

This evening, a Canine Rescue organization brought a few dogs to our residence hall for everyone to play with. Emily and I hogged this sweet guy for a good half hour. He has the cutest face (this is the best I could get of him, though)!

Hiking at Firestone Metro Park with my dad. The little pond at the park was frozen and two solitary geese were walking in the middle.

Although the pond was frozen, we found skunk cabbage starting - a sign of warm weather to come!

Later on, Zack and his dad's dog, Roxy. She is a Great Dane and she is (obviously) HUGE.

This day it snowed and I thought the view from my window was pretty since the tree was lightly dusted. I love snow when it's not all gross and brown and half melty.

Anna and Emily did some finger painting while I was doing a bunch of homework one night and this was one of the pictures Anna did. It apparently is her rendition of Starry Night. I am quite impressed.

My empty Starbucks doubleshot...I love ordering it, not just because it's a great way to perk up, but I genuinely love the challenge of knocking back all that bitter espresso. In a weird way, I really like the taste.

A view the of McCracken Power Plant behind a campus building. The two stacks are always smoking, which is probably a pretty bad sign, but I just thought the huge billows of white smoke that day were pretty against the bright blue sky.

Home for the weekend! I took this within the first five minutes of getting home...this is how Isabel was looking at me as I came in the living room. She looks psychotic. She's so strange, haha.

I have a bunch of duck pictures like this from Saturday. My mom and I went hiking at the local Towpath trailhead that morning and as usual, there were hordes of hungry ducks. At this point, the ducks had just started to sort of chase me in pursuit of food as I walked down the path. There is one in the very back of the crowd in the middle of taking off for flight if you really look. Ducks are just so silly!

I feel silly for not knowing the name of this river, but I know it is runs from the Long Lake Channel near Portage Lakes. Mom and I ventured off the path in Mesopotamia (the named area of the towpath we were hiking on) and found a relatively new bridge back in the woods that went over the water. It's actually really pretty back there.

My Dad and I went to Firestone Metro Park and took a hike Sunday, as well (two snowy hikes in one weekend for me!). Firestone is known for having chickadees that are basically trained by the public to feed out of hands if you bring seed - so of course, we always do. And they are always hungry! I caught this picture of a chickadee on my dad's hand.

All the ones I got sitting in my own hand turned out kind of blurry, but it still is cool. I love the feeling of the little birds sitting there because they sort of grip your hand with their little clawed feet and you feel them peck at your hand to get the seed. They are so cute!

Happy Valentine's Day! Walking back from my shift at work at sunset, the sky was an appropriate shade of pinkish purple, with the moon peeking out in the top right corner. Pretty.

I know I've done this before, and it's not the most interesting picture, but I worked a double shift this day and I was out of time and inspiration. Also, Emily gave me a pretty pinkish-gold eyeshadow (E.L.F. "Trendy") for V-Day the day before,so I tried it out and am wearing it here (along with some colors from a "Time for Wine" palette by Maybelline).

I wish it was possible to capture the true weather on a day through a picture, but I couldn't. But today was GORGEOUS. I wore capris and sometimes took off my jacket while I was walking. It was mostly sunny and crazy windy; I think it got up to the mid-60s. I wish it could just be spring now. This is one of the wind direction indicators near the towers on campus. I actually walked all the way to Ag Campus (25 minute walk - I usually take the bus) and the wind indicators were all swinging around like crazy from the gusts, but of course you can't really tell.

Not sure what this is...but I found it while taking a rest on a bench outside this evening. I thought it looked like a heart, though, and the texture was cool, so I took a picture.
