3/20/11

I ate the tiniest clementines at my Dad's house Sunday. Look at the size compared to a quarter! They were so good.

3/21/11

Beautiful day - let's take Roxy for a walk!

"But guys I wanna go this way! Guys! Look here! Guys! Whoa! Over there! Guys!"

3/22/11

Went to my favorite pet store - One of a Kind Pets - with Zack today for some puppy and kitty lovin'. Look at how sweet! I believe that all of the animals at this place are rescues. It's really a great place.

This little sweetheart's name is Nahla. Best name for a tiger kitten ever.

She's so tiny! She kept clinging onto Zack and I like velcro. Awww :)

3/23/11

Mmmmm. Had lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Bravo, with my Mom and Aunt Kathy today for my Mom's belated birthday and my early birthday. Sooo good. My Aunt and I both had the warm berry cake for dessert - my favorite dish by far at this place. Words cannot describe. Mom went for the creme brulee - also very good. Thanks, Aunt Kathy!

Blog update 2 of 2...in case you didn't see the previous post, I hadn't updated in so long that I split up this update into two posts. New pictures are also in the one below this update.

3/7/11

A view upwards of the steps of Sullivant Hall (the dance building). I always thought they were beautiful and I liked the shadows cast on them this day.

3/8/11

Another makeup picture. I got a new haul from my favorite company, E.L.F., and tried out some new colors. I have Earthy (mineral eyeshadow in a dark brownish green) on my lid and the lower line is lined with the shimmer eyeliner pencil in Plum Passion. I love subtle hints of color.

3/9/11

One of my favorite bracelets. I got it from Yankee Peddler years ago! (A festival in Canal Fulton, OH, that consists of old-timey arts and crafts - pretty cool.)

3/10/11

After a stressful week, Ian and Anna came to our room and we had a feast complete with mindless TV-watching. We all ordered the PAD Pizza and later ordered Insomnia Cookies (the BEST fresh cookies that come delivered to your door - wonderful).  Above is all that was left after they were gone.

3/11/11

Emily and I went shopping and stopped into one of our favorite little boutiques, Pitaya. They have super adorable cheap clothes and they are only a 3 minute walk from our hall. Dangerous!

3/12/11

Photo of the construction and melting snow and accumulated rain in front of our hall. I like how it reflects the other hall across the way and the pretty blue sky.

Kindl! Emily brought her adorable doggie to the Oval to give Tomas (her boyfriend) and I both study breaks. We played with her for about an hour. She's so cute!

Tired puppy. :)

3/13/11

Zack paid me a visit out of nowhere on Sunday - his Dad was coming down to Columbus to visit with Zack's sister, Mikaila, so Zack tagged along. We walked around down High Street in the Short North. I really liked the sign on the side of the building in the upper left-hand corner. Very artsy.

3/14/11

Study buddy! Iced white mocha latte with raspberry. Mmmm. :)

3/15/11

Kind of a dreary day. I thought the orange-y reflection of the streetlight on the street was neat.

3/16/11

SO WARM! Yes, I had to break out the shorts. I love spring!

3/17/11

Home for Spring Break! Finally done with horrendous winter quarter. Yuck. (My busyness and stress from that quarter is the reason for lack of updates for the past month. Booo.) It was really nice that day also, and super windy at my Dad's lake, as you can tell from the huge ripples. Also, this is the first week it's been all the way thawed!

Dad and I went hiking at a nearby park. This is a little creek (Wonder Lake Creek) that we thought was pretty that runs through the park.

3/18/11

Crocuses are blooming! I'll say it for the millionth time - spring is coming! (Can you tell I'm excited?)

They're all over our yard. So pretty and cheerful!

Last night I went to see Zack play a couple songs at a gig with his Dad's band - the first time he ever played onstage. He did so good! I am so proud. :)

3/19/11

Another of the lake...a swan was out swimming at sunset.

The best I could get of the huge full moon tonight. So cool!

This is going to be one heck of a post since I haven't updated in about a month (whoops), so I think I'll split it up into two posts. This first one will be of the older photos.

2/18/11

This day was absolutely beautiful and warm and as I was walking through the Oval at about 3pm, I was so surprised at the amount of people playing, running, talking, laying, and walking through the Oval. It sure felt like spring was right around the corner!

2/19/11

This night, I went to see Drums Downtown with my friend Megan for an assignment for our dance class. (above is the program) It ended up being so cool! It was all experimental music and modern dance. We loved it. Definitely going back next year!

2/20/11

Forgot a picture. :(

2/21/11

...Remember how I said spring was just around the corner? Yeah, two days later we were faced with this. The picture doesn't quite capture it, but the snowflakes were HUGE - maybe the biggest I've seen. And they were coming down fast and heavy, coating everything in cold wet snow. Gross.

2/22/11

Walking past the RPAC (OSU's Rec Center), I thought the circular metal sculpture to the right in this picture, below the tower in the background, looked so cool. It was reflecting light from the Scarlet Walkway (upper left-hand corner of the picture). Pretty!

2/23/11

Yet another sign of spring...there are six robins in this picture. Most all of the birds on campus are so accustomed to people that you can get really close to them, like I did here.

2/24/11

At Zoology Club, the Ohio Wildlife Center brought in some animals for us to see, including this red-shouldered hawk. I had never seen one!

2/25/11

Emily decided to do my makeup (and I will never object to a free makeover) this night for fun.  This is the result, but it's not a very good picture of the finished product, unfortunately.  She used a combination of my Maybelline and E.L.F. eyeshadows - it was pink on the lid and graduated darker until it got to a silvery purple on the browbone.

2/26/11

(Attempting to) grow a little strawberry plant in our window. I found the kit at Target for $1 so who knows. I probably planted it a little early on because the chilly air from outside has been blowing on it. Hopefully it sprouts soon! My mom has a little mini rose one that is sprouting at home.

2/27/11

Another gorgeous day in Columbus. Walking back from grabbing lunch, I took this of my building and the beautiful sky.

2/28/11

Favorite. Chocolates. Ever. Nothing compares to Lindor Truffles (especially the milk-milk and the white-milk ones). Zack bought me the limited edition white chocolate-milk chocolate ones for Valentine's Day. :) Aww. I devoured them. (Hey Zack - my birthday is coming up...) :)

3/1/11

A small sign of spring as I was walking to my dorm. Not sure what this little green sprout is but it's cute, and it's green! (At this point, after this horrible winter, I'll take what I can get.)

3/2/11

Found this written on a bathroom stall. Thought it was sweet. I love meaningful graffiti.

This evening, a Canine Rescue organization brought a few dogs to our residence hall for everyone to play with. Emily and I hogged this sweet guy for a good half hour. He has the cutest face (this is the best I could get of him, though)!

3/3/11

Home! This is Fred's "I'm-irritated-all-these-stuffed-animals-are-in-my-spot" face.

3/4/11

Hiking at Firestone Metro Park with my dad. The little pond at the park was frozen and two solitary geese were walking in the middle.

Although the pond was frozen, we found skunk cabbage starting - a sign of warm weather to come!

Later on, Zack and his dad's dog, Roxy. She is a Great Dane and she is (obviously) HUGE.

3/5/11

Stanley and Fiona. Fiona is unfazed by whatever is happening but Stanley seems quite intrigued.

3/6/11

Little birdie tracks in our front yard. I love all kinds of animal track patterns, even the most common.
